Lauren Alvarez is a digital strategist, visual producer, writer, journalist, creative consultant and a curator of music content and culture based out of Los Angeles. 

She currently works at Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter as a digital video content manager, where she spearheads, manages, analyzes and produces daily news/editorial videos for both outlets. She has served pivotal roles on special series for the brands, including THR's Emerging Hollywood, hosted by Charlamagne tha God, and THR's Official Golden Globes Live Show in partnership with HFPA.


Lauren, a true lover of West Coast hip-hop, is an expert in music (hip-hop and pop) and culture, frequently contributing to Forbes and Billboard for their respected entertainment verticals. She has exclusively interviewed the likes of Diddy, Donald Glover, Ice Cube and G-Eazy. She recently served as one of the writers for Complex's 8-part docuseries Tekashi 69 vs The World, curated specifically for Snapchat. 

Her prior experience in digital media includes NBC Universal, ABC-7 Eyewitness News, CBS Radio, and WhoSay. Her extensive background has helped her serve as a creative and business consultant for other creatives, business and brands in Los Angeles. She started her sustainable and natural soy wax candle business, LRN the brand, in hopes of bringing an intentional product to people's homes.

A music and pop culture connoisseur, she's passionate about seeking out overlooked stories and creating content to inspire others to reach their full potential.
